KOA
:: Acacia Koa

Good Koa is nothing short of spectacular. It is golden honey-colored, with rich brown striations and lustrous figure. Koa's density varies tremendously and this is generally reflected in its color, the darker examples being stiffer. It is a little more percussive than Mahogany but with a very warm tonal quality. The softer examples are punchy and sweet with good projection. Harder Koa is more dynamic, offering better projection and remarkable definition. I recommend Koa for slide playing, country blues and ragtime. Available in two grades.
